For the Urban Millennial looking for a new way of online shopping, BidByBit is an online bidding platform that provides an interactive, fun, and transparent system due to its live features and 2-way communication channel.

        We are BidByBit, an online live bidding platform based in Bangkok, Thailand. Our platform allows sellers to directly auction their products through livestream video, while the buyers are able to bid and interact with the seller and other buyers through a live chat feed. Firstly, we aim to add an aspect of entertainment to the typical
auction process. For example, on Youtube, people often subscribe to certain Youtubers that produce content they enjoy; on BidByBit, people may follow engaging sellers who provides products suited to their interests. Secondly, we want to provide a transparent system that allows for a 2-way interaction between buyers and sellers, the same 2-way communication one would have when shopping in person, hence our slogan: Shop in person, online. For example, in the live chat feed, buyers may request to see the certificate of authenticity, or how the shirt fits on the seller, or a 360 degree view of the product to check for any marks. We also further provide further security by acting as an intermediary between the buyer and seller if there were to be a dispute between the authenticity or false advertisement of the product.


    The ideology behind our UX/UI designs is modern entertainment. We want our users to feel fun and safe when using our platform achieved by a well thought-through design, targeted to our user group to increase our credibility and engagement with our application. The app is easy to follow, firstly selecting if you are aiming to sell or buy. This allows tailored features and interfaces used by our two user groups. The platform allows a selection of payment systems including credit card, bank transfers and PayPal; the user inputs their preferred payment method before they are allowed to bid.

    Looking at the overall interface, the products we have on offer would be categorised, allowing easy navigation through our platform. Users have an option to follow their favourite sellers to get notified when they go live and message them privately about their products.

    On the live bidding page, our main feature for users is the ‘place bid’ button, the number on the button represents the increase in price for the current bid. Once a winning bid has been made, the app automatically counts down and celebrates the winner.

    Throughout the live stream users can participate in the live chat, to talk directly to the seller or to talk to other bidders. This is to easily separate the entertainment aspect from the bidding, unlike other platforms. Once the top bid has won, the user will see a breakdown of their payment and confirms the item they have bought.
